Vision Statement

The Bebminot Family Wellness program is committed to developing and delivering programs that will promote healthy children and families in a safe and inclusive environment.

Who We Are

The Bebminot Family Wellness Program strives to improve the health and well being of families within Simcoe County and the northern York Region by supplying tools and resources to strengthen relationships of the families among the community, agencies and organizations. We offer emergency services, resources and referrals to our families. The program is funded by the County of Simcoe through the Restructuring Reinvestment Fund.

About Our Staff

The Bebminot Family Wellness program provides supports and services in the Simcoe County and northern York Region.

Family Wellness Workers have a solid understanding of the everyday challenges parents and children face. We are dedicated to offering positive and compassionate support to our families.

To better meet the needs of our families our team actively participates in relevant training opportunities. Some of the more recent training workshops we have participated in are: Anti-Bullying, Beyond the Basics, Nobody’s Perfect, Diabetes Prevention Training, Completing the Circle (literacy) and the New Worker CAS Training.

Our Services

Community Referrals

We offer support through a variety of community referrals. One such referral would be for housing and shelters, such as SUN Housing, County of Simcoe Housing, women’s shelters and transition houses / street centre’s across Simcoe County and the northern York Region. We also offer support letters and advocacy for families who are in need of help accessing community or social services.

In Home Support

We work in partnership with many community agencies and organizations to offer limited emergency supports to families in need. We also offer family support advocacy and CAS support.

Parent Councils

The program will work closely with the parent councils of the three Biinoojinsauk Childcare Centres to address child development, life skills, basic needs, parenting, cultural and traditional teachings, in home support, education and intervention and cultural identity.

Cultural Awareness and Resources

We work closely with regional Aboriginal organizations to deliver cultural events, traditional teachings, workshops and community involvement to our families.

Life Skills Workshops and Support

We work closely with our families to support them and encourage necessary life skills such as budgeting, nutrition and cooking, and health. We also offer supports for parenting skills such as the Triple P Program (Positive Parenting Program) offered through the Simcoe County Health Unit and Learning Centres.
